Join us on July 11th as we celebrate our first year with a day of discussion with some of the world's leading thinkers.

Schedule of Events (all times Eastern Daylight Time):

10 am to 11 am: “Prospects for the Culture Wars”

A roundtable conversation with Emily Yoffe, Jonathan Haidt, and Thomas Chatterton Williams, moderated by Yascha Mounk.

Three members of the Persuasion Board of Advisors will discuss the current state of the culture wars and paths to a more reasoned discourse. Registration below.

11 am to 12 pm: “Should the U.S. Still Consider Itself the Leader of the Free World?”

A Persuasion debate between Anne Applebaum and Stephen Walt, moderated by Moisés Naím.

The Persuasion debate format emphasizes finding common ground and acknowledging the best points of the other side. Applebaum will take the “pro” side of the proposition, and Walt will argue against. Audience Q&A will attempt to probe both speakers’ positions. Registration below.

1 pm to 2 pm: Live Recording of the Good Fight Podcast with Kmele Foster

Kmele Foster, host of the Fifth Column Podcast, joins Yascha Mounk for a special live recording of the Good Fight podcast. Registration below.

2 pm to 2:30 pm: Community Conversation with Coleman Hughes

Coleman Hughes will join Persuasion for a half-hour of conversation and Q&A with the community. Registration below.
