It doesn’t matter what form of government I prefer or you prefer. What matters is what form of government works. China builds dams. The US (of late) enforces PC. In 1868 or 1968 China had a deeply dysfunctional government (helped by the British in 1868) and the US had a government that worked. Now things have changed. China builds subways at a cost of around $250 million per mile. The US cost is $3.5 billion per mile.

It doesn't matter? You mean dictatorships dont matter if they get things done. Hitler was OK b/c the trains ran on time.

And of major countries, again, the US has the highest GDP per capita, as you noted 3.62 times that of China, which was the lower figure based on one measure of GDP and nearly 8 times based on exchange rate GDP, and but for a few small countries, like Qatar and Switzerland, the US is the highest.

Maybe it costs more in the US because workers earn many more times that of China. They also have occupational protections. And yes, we do have higher environmental standards as Beijing is noted for having some of the worst air pollution in the world. Of the top 20 cities in air pollution, 7 are in China. The US most polluted city New York weighs in at #72. But, hey they can do things cheap. Just get rid of all environmental concerns, and occupational standards and you save money. Oh, yes, independent unions aren't allowed either, or any organization that might differ with the union. But, hey, they save some money.,

You can hardly breath

It is one thing to suggest ways to improve this country. It is another to advance dictatorship as a method for solving your problems.

In the US, if you have any good ideas, to make costs less, you can advocate for them. Maybe you are upset b/c there is no dictator that can get what you want done. Maybe that is not caring for worker safety, allowing unions, or protecting the environment like China doesnt have to worry about so they can save a few dollars. Freedom is more important than money.

Yes, it doesn't matter. The trains ran on time under FDR. Of course, he also built dams (big, famous ones). Now we have a 'can not do' country (other than enforcing PC).

As for how bad things are in China. They aren't. Life expectancy is rising, not falling. Not bad for a country where 'you can hardly breath'.
