I did point out this difference and that each has its importance. PPP might be good for individual well being and CHina looks good because things are cheaper there- labor is cheaper, services are cheaper, etc. but again for personal well being the more important metric is gdp per capita which as you mentioned the US is 3.6x higher.

In terms of a countries production capacity the nominal method is better because this is valuing all things produced in terms of the world prices, plus geopolitically this reflects the currency value of things and their abilities to advance their defense etc.

But I return to the real source of my disagreement - do you not think freedom is important. We could not have this discussion that you seem to want to do in China without fear of one of us being punished.

Are you willing to throw away all your freedoms b/c China may or may not had a higher gdp. And their population is set to decline greatly which will also effect their gdp.

Why are people trying so hard to get into Europe and the US but not China.

What value I or you place on 'freedoms' is irrelevant. China is where things get done. The US is not (other than enforcing PC). The US can't build HSR, subways, dams, etc. The US can enforce PC. China can build trains, subways, dams, etc. In the US, 2 + 2 = 'white racism'. In China, the answer is 4.
