Democrats need to understand the issues in schools. For example it is not surprising that parents were upset in Virginia about teaching Tony Morrison’s Beloved. This is a story that is likely to give children nightmares. The same would apply to teaching of Eugénie Grandet by Balzac. Both these novels are excellent works of literature but are not appropriate for school children. And to introduce these novels with the horror of life during these historical periods would likely turn off many student from further reading of literature. There are so many excellent novels by Black writers (and French writers) that a more appropriate novel should be chosen.

I'm biased as a supporter of UBI, Andrew Yang and RCV and yet... Andrew Yang was great here. His answers mostly led with facts before opinion. Smart way to talk.

"They don't want to hate someone, and right now, all of our politics are geared towards hate."

It is legitimate to hate those who hate you, for being male or white, Jewish, Asian or, accomplished, self-made immigrant (like Virginia's new Lt. Gov Winsome Sears).
