I'm not worried that he loses and doesn't leave, I'm worried that Biden clearly wins but 100,000s of ballots are thrown out by the courts using spurious and and conflicting logic. In one place they might say we're keeping such and such a deadline so as not to change the rules so close to the election, and then in Texas they'll throw out the drive through ballots even though that's a change of rules after people were allowed to vote. It will be obvious that all of these conflicting rulings changed the outcome, but Trump will "win" and it will be "constitutional"
Some of my semi-libertarian friends are saying that the reason storekeepers are boarding up their stores is that they are anticipating a Trump win and the left will riot. They claim Trumpers don't riot, so it must be ordinary people are really afraid of Trump winning, and we should believe the precautions and not the media, which is lying about the polls.
Your friend may be onto something. I think Trump supporters will take his defeat in stride for two reasons:
1. His support is largely transactional, not devotion.
2. Trump supporters understand that he could lose. They’ve been hearing it for months.
The antifa crowd, though, are truly devoted to their hatred of Trump. And they’ve been told this election should be theirs to win, and only fraud can keep Trump in office. Hunker down.
Great article! It helps to put things into perspective: civil war versus sporadic incidents of violence. Polarised social media versus what's actually happening in the streets. Screaming capslock tweets versus the limitations of the power of the executive.
Exactly the article I needed this morning. THANK YOU
