What racist policies did Trump propose? I have seen Trump speak and listened to interviews, he is not anti-immigration nor are most conservatives and Trump supporters. I think the majority of Americans of all political stripes want controlled immigration. Trump wants to preserve some national identity, but if you look at his rallies, there are people of all races, and they are not limited to "White nationalist males". I have never heard Trump disparage Biden voters like Biden and the media disparage Trump voters. As far as conspiracies? We have had a mentally failing president in office for 3.5 years and now it has just occurred to the administration that this is a problem? Or have they known it all this time and covered it up? If they are lying about this, what else are they lying about? Russiagate, Ukrainegate, anything Trump has done the last 20 years?
January 6- With all the talk about the Big Lie, and White Nationalists, Trump holds a giant rally January 5, and exhorts the crowd to go to the capitol and peacefully protest, yet the FBI seems to have no clue that a riot might break out or a potential "insurrection", the capitol police are totally unprepared and actually open the doors and gates and escort the Bison guy all over the building? A lone woman is shot while being surrounded by police by a trigger happy capitol cop and he gets off with nothing?
You can call me a gap-toothed MAGA redneck Trumper and I don't care anymore because our government and our media has been degrading us for 8 years and trying to convince us that Trump will start WWIII and ruin our Democracy, Republic, whatever else you want to call it, and I don't believe it.
If you think Trump has bad policies and you want to vote for someone, anyone else, you feel free to have at it, but stop trying to shove a narrative down our throats, I'm not buying it.
Completely agree. You can't understand anything about the right or left without considering what they were reacting to from the other side. Anyone framing Trump as some kind of extreme turn to the right has to grapple with his appeal to working class voters who also appreciated what Sanders was saying, or voted for Obama in the previous election.
So called liberals have abandoned all principles and now evaluate everything only in terms of whether they believe it hurts their enemies or not. The lawfare they've resorted to is as illiberal as anything we've seen in recent US history.
David Austin Walsh is a clown who made exaggerating white racism his life's work. And then had the temerity to gripe publicly that his job prospects were encumbered by the reverse racism he championed.
Right now there are three possibilities with the first two being the most likely; Biden will decline the nomination, lose to Trump, or, if the stars align correctly, beat Trump. If either of the first two happen, we will see how well the centrist Democrats are able to fend off the looney left of their party. If the third possibility were to happen, the internecine squabble between the center and left of the Democratic party will be delayed for a few years. The fact is that the Democrats may not be that far behind the Republicans in distancing themselves from essentially a center or slightly center-right national electorate.
The same sort of analysis can be applied to the left.
For every Pat Buchanan, there's an Angela Davis. This phenomenon came out of the closet with "The 1619 Project" and the so-called "reckoning" during the Summer of Floyd. These folks, too, were there all along. Just ask Chesa Boudin.
Trump continually lies about voter fraud. In 2017, he created the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity. They looked for fraud for eleven months and found none, even after reinforcing its staff with Homeland Security personnel. His silence about this is an unspoken lie.
Trump lies about minorities. He spent millions of dollars on recounts in Milwaukee and Phoenix, because of their non-white populations. No fraud was found. Cyber Ninjas quit as failures and Rudy Giuliani was disbarred. Most Americans understand this definitively as racism.
Anther group he lies about are the “millions” of non-citizen voters. Again, there is no evidence for this. With this lie, Republicans have decided to avoid evidence of any kind. The official Republican position as stated by U.S. House Speaker Michael Johnson is they know about immigrant voter fraud “intuitively.”
In addition to lies of omission are Republican’s lies of commission. Consider the recent lies about the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC). This group can securely use records from the IRS, the U.S. Postal Service, and The Social Security Administration to authenticate voter registration roles. This information is used to produce the most effective and reliable certification of voter registrations across state lines. It had grown to include 32 members until Republicans realized it was countering the suppression of Democratic voter registration. Because of this development, eight Republican-led states have dropped out of this partnership. One justification has been a claim that ERIC was funded by George Soros. Motives behind rightwing paranoid racism often include antisemitism.
Trump lies about urban voter fraud. Trump lies about illegal voting by immigrants. Trump lies when he claims Republicans want more secure voter registration rules to protect legal voting. Trump lies when he says, “If you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.” What he means is he hates America. When he calls Democrats “communists” and “human scum,” he wants others who also hate America to help him destroy it.

And now, by the way, guess who's threatening SCOTUS for a 6-3 ruling on presidential immunity? Clue: not conservatives.

I'm making plenty of popcorn for watching the convoluted pretzel twisting machinations they will be making the next 3-4 months for the Biden debacle.
