I'll preface my comment by saying I'm a life-long Democrat who sees both the far right and far left as equally illiberal. In addition to everything mentioned in the article, Biden is weak because he has not been able to "herd the cats" in his party and message anything effectively. .

The squad refused to vote earlier on an infrastructure deal, which led to endless bickering. So now it's FINALLY passed but so what? No one knows what's in the bill and whose fault is that? And Dems can say "There's no CRT in schools" and call parents racist until the cows come home, but if your kid comes home and tells you that her class was told to sit in "racial affinity groups," you just might object. I truly want transgender people to have all the rights of American citizenship. However, I also believe biological sex is real and I don't believe I'm transphobic because I support terms like "women" and "breast-feeding." Finally, don't get me started on the insane message of "Defund the Police," the stupidest slogan in the history of politics.

Like it or not, the Democratic Party is associated with the far, far left because its messaging is abominable. It meeds to fix this or it will lose big in 2022 and 2024 and we will then all lose democracy.

"Reasoning with the public and admitting missteps in Afghanistan or at the border isn’t a sign of weakness but one of strength.

Strong leaders can reason with their people about when things go wrong. Continuing to spin and telling Americans things are going better than they really are asks them to disbelieve their own eyes, and it’s unlikely to lift Biden’s sagging ratings. "

Strongly agree; I cannot support this thought enough.

One thing regarding immigration. Why do Americans disapprove of his presidency? Is it because they feel and think that Biden is not helping enough refugees and labor migrants or not hurting enough refugees and labour migrants?

The thing is that there are no "strong leaders". Partly because the USA as many others nations is a complex entity where more federalism and decentralization are needed. Partly because "strong leader" = dictator, authoritarian

"Chaos is also likely the reason behind why so many Americans disagree with Biden’s handling of the war in Afghanistan, where his approval rating is lower still, at 34 percent. While there was strong public support for withdrawing from Afghanistan, most Americans found fault with how that withdrawal was conducted."

This is pure fantasy of the American public. If we were honest we would do something like this, "What would an acceptable amount of deaths be from the withdrawal of Afghanistan?" Many people would have been forced to put in numbers that are VASTLY higher than the how it turned out. This viewpoint that Biden was at fault is intellectually irresponsible. Yet because of bias, there will be no digging deep into "What were the expectations?" It boils my blood that one of the most competent and needed executive moves, one of the only real moves Biden could make, are bringing down his approval rating. It's utter bu****it from a public that doesn't understand what the President even does.

We went from 4 scandals a day and no policy. To 1-2 scandals a year with substantive policy. CTC is fantastic (Mitt's plan was even better). We have long awaited more infrastructure spending (tho spending on roads is mostly bad policy). In conclusion, Americans are fantastical thinkers with few legitimate gripes on the left and right.
