Mexico was not successful before AMLO. Mexico was not successful while AMLO was in office. Mexico will not be successful under Claudia Sheinbaum. More than 100 years ago, Alexis de Tocqueville predicted that Mexico would not be successful. He was right. Check Mexico’s PISA scores. They are between Kazakhstan and Mongolia. No surprise that (measured by PISA scores), Singapore is number one. The rise of China dooms Mexico, in more ways than one.

According to this article, AMLO views Mexico's relationship with the US as less important than energy policy. Times sure have changed. I mentioned in another note, that China's rise dooms Mexico. True enough. Mexico (in the future) will sell raw materials to China and consume manufactured goods made in China. That's not much of a future. But it is the future that Mexico has. Of course, Tourism won't go away. Lots of Chinese tourists in Mexico's future.

We should also be mindful of the important role of AMLO in support of progressive and leftist tendencies in Latin America, symbolized by Mexico’s revitalization of CELAC and the Mexican government’s positive relations with Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Bolivia, occurring in the context of the U.S. unconventional war against states that seek a sovereign road in Latin America and elsewhere. The strong electoral vote in favor of AMLO’s fourth transformation is seen in Cuba as an indication of popular support for anti-imperialist construction in Latin America.

Raisi was known as the "Butcher of Tehran". Of course, you liked him.

Raisi was known by this phrase among certain enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran and “human rights” organizations, which have developed an industry of discrediting triumphant Third World anti-imperialist revolutions with a general charge of authoritarianism, based in omissions and distortions. These accusations distract the peoples of the West from consciousness of the historically significant and transformative worldwide project of anti-imperialist construction, which has been emerging since the 1950s.

For the prevailing view of Raisi in the global South, see:

We now have a second failed Iranian attack on Israel. My question for your is this. Did Nasrallah or Sinwar enjoy their final moments on Earth? Which had more joy?

Would you describe Iran's missile/drone attack on Israel (for which Raisi was partially responsible) as a fizzle? Or more of a flop? Or just a failure.?

I would describe it as a legitimate but not excessive response to the Israeli attack on its embassy.

No embassy was involved. Why am I not surprised that you can't get even minimal facts right. Israel did kill two senior terrorists. I guess that upsets you. I do have some questions for you. Under Mao, 35-45 million starved to death. Stalin promoted famine in the Ukraine. The average person In Venezuela has lost some 20+ pounds. Why does socialism lead to food shortages?
