There are two types of people who like to fish: (A) Those who just want to spend a day out on the water and (B) those who really want to catch fish. (An obvious oversimplification, but for the sake of argument...)The advent of fish-finding sonar and other high-tech gadgets has not ruined fishing for those of us who enjoy being out on the water. I suggest that the author make peace with AI and associate with competitive chess players who just want to play chess.
I agree. What is really human is both our. ability to be objective and our ability to be emotional. You can't "fix" us or make us better in any meaningful way by removing human emotion or replicating it with a machine. How we feel, the way our experiences affect us and the way we share a=this human world with each other are vital to being alive.
