Thank you! I had been wondering about the different experiences of Brits, and I appreciate getting some nuance.

Do you know how Britain compares with the US in police violence against Black people? I know it's a favorable comparison (for the UK), but I've seen different statistics and don't know which are the most accurate or relevant (e.g., should we be looking at deaths in custody rather than deaths on the street?).

How are you defining "black"? There was a time when British leftists promoted "political blackness," arguing that anyone who wasn't pure white was "black." Asians did NOT like that so it stopped. However, Britain seems to have imported an American "one drop rule" myth in which "black" means anyone with a "drop" of "black blood," no matter how white. Needless to say, such a ridiculous definition of "black" is based on an assumption of genetic inferiority. Witness the "black" insistence that Meghan Markle is one of them.

Good story but really the George Floyd incident needs to corrected: it wasn't a killing. Dig into the full facts, not just the video. Here is a good interview with the former state and federal prosecutor giving the surrounding details. After listening, you will come away thinking the cops did all the right things and are the good guys. https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2020/09/what-killed-george-floyd.php
